The Peterborough County Federation of Agriculture supports the local community of farm families by facilitating recognition opportunities through various awards. It has created resources to remind and educate farmers and residents about farm safety during harvest months. Additionally, Farms at Work facilitates employment opportunities throughout the region and resources to find farmland and farm work.

The Kawartha Lakes Haliburton Federation of Agriculture represents both cities and supports fundraising and donation initiatives to those less fortunate in the community.

There are many supports for agriculture directly from the counties to continue strategically mapping out economic opportunities for the agricultural sector.

The Kawartha Conservation aims to protect 2,563 kilometres through watershed planning, monitoring, and managing the natural environments while balancing the needs of humans and wildlife alike. The Otonabee Region Conservation Authority focuses on preserving the watersheds to maintain a healthy environment. The area offers activities and educational opportunities for residents and visitors in an effort to showcase and protect the region for years to come.
